Exhibition "Selections from the Costakis Collection of SMCA. The movements of the Russian Avant-Garde (1900-1930)"

State Museum of Contemporary Art, Moni Lazaristes
The State Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting a new exhibition with artworks from the Russian avant guarde period from the famous Costakis collection in its exhibition venues in Moni Lazariston. The exhibition which will last till August 28 (opening hours: Tuesday-Sunday 11:00-19:00, Mondays closed), is designed in order for the movements of the Russian avan guarde period to be presented in chronological line in the two floors of the Moni Lazariston. On the ground floor one can also visit special rooms which are dedicated in all forms of art of that period (Poetry, Theatre, Music, Cinema, Architecture), where is underlined the synergy between all forms of arts and the visual arts. In this way, the phenomenon of the organic synthesis of the arts, which highly represents this period, is underlined. The exhibition is also enriched with archive material and documentation texts, while there is a special reference to the collector George Costakis.
